everything is spinin around

My head spins around, my heart is splitting in two, my mind is all over the place and my luggage is still to be packed. Four years in the country of freedom and tons of opportunities have come to its finale. In less than 10 hrs I have to say bye to my close friends. In less than 12 hrs I will be getting ready to get on a plane. In about15 hrs I will be switching planes in the biggest airport I've ever been to. In 24 hrs I will be flying above Europe and in a day and a half I will hopefully safely land in Mother-land. But what about everything I'm leaving behind? what about all the people I might never see again? Why is it always the case: you had a great time of your life, get comfortable with everything and everyone and then 'buuuum' - time to move on, time to travel far and for long. The idea of leaving is crucial, but the idea of staying behind is even worse, because i have a family on the other side, there is my brother who hasn't have a sister near by for all these 6 years, my parents who haven't really seen their daughter for at least a year, my friends who are getting mad at me for not wanting to return... how many time I am going to change homes? when will I finally settle?

I need time to think about it. I'll have plenty of it in a plane, 10 hrs flight, 10 boring and sad hrs of flight...

I'll be just fine. I won't cry. I am going home!

the end...

I finally decided to open my book today...
Was too busy before and time flyes too fast to travel along with
it...
I completely forgot about it, my already fat and very complicated book,
hidde in a dusty clothet...
I opened on the page I stopped last time...
There is nothing but the last two words: "move on...".
The chapter seemed to be left unfinished...
It seems like it's too late to fill in the gaps...
What did those two words mean?..
One of my friends has given a really good definition/explanation to this
fenomenom...
This Volume #n is becoming to heavy and too complecated to read and
understand...
I wanna close it and put it back...

continuing in St Petersburg...

LAURA IS FINE!!!!!! :P that what she tells my every time I ask her any question! he he he it's an internal joke... But we are doing great! today we safely arrive to St Petersburg and did nothing but chilling at the house we are staying at. The night train we took sucked out all our energy even though we slept like babies all way long. :) it was an esciting experience for Laura (since she has never taken a proper train), myself as Laura's tour guide and ppl around us, coz we were quite loud .

Tomorrow is a new day and we are looking forward to an advanturose trip around my favorite city, picking up Casey and maybe seeing Jenny later that day and her new very nice americna friends.

I did unfortunately skipped a couple of funny days we had in Moscow, but if I have time I'll write about it later so it will stay in my blog for a long memory..

the beginning of advanture

a day fullfilled with excitment, new feelings, advanture, random ppl, my dad's b-day, rain!, and pictures...
To start from the beginning, we did wake up late as it's been predicted, so our days started around noon... registration part brought me into frustration, but we postponed it till tomorrow, so taking the metro and going down-town was our main goal for today. First of all, I've conmbined smth I had to do (aka somewhere I had to drop by) with an interesting excursion around one of the oldest monastries down town. The amazing thing about it is that behind those thick walls no traffic noise is coming through and it's so peacefull and quite as we are somewhere in the subburbs. Moreover, except the interesting excursion we had around that holly place, we met a group of tourists from Buenos Aires there and with whom I tried to use the little spanish I know... but due to my shyness and the lack of time we had, I barely could say hi and bye. But that group of adult latinos followed us even to the resturant we stopped to have lunch in. Nice and very friendly people and absolutely out of nowhere.. But our tour was going on. After seeing the beauties of that monastry we realized that hunger was taking our last energy away, so we stopped at this lovely, quite cheep, but very russian place where we could have a decent lunch and not overpay since Moscow is very far from a cheep city.. That was the moment when the severe rain has started and scared a lot of ppl away.. we continued our trip to the Red Square, by the Historic Museum, by Lenins grave, went to the St Basilic church, followed by Alexander Garden and we ended our trip in the Cathedral of Crist the Savior. We choose to have a church day, because it required to have a special atire, so tomorrow we are looking forward to further exploration of Moscow :)

off to bed, coz the wine we had for my dad's b-day is getting me a bit :P
night-night

the worlds crossing

Laura is here :) finally arrived! it's amazing how wierd and amazing to see her here. I'm very happy to be able to share my culture, to introduce her to another part of this planet... traveling and experience are the main ways to educated ourselves these days. I realize it by looking at myself even though I don't have that much behind my shoulders, but I have something to share and I'm glad to be able to help my roommie to get this valuable knowledge.. of course I'm nervious how things will go and of course it's hard to show everything, but tomorrow is our oficial start day and I'm hoping that she will have as much energy as she had today, the day she arrived.. we did manage to do some sightseeing and the weather helped us to complete this tast, so now, at 8 p.m. my friend is in a deep sleep on a new place.. time difference always brings troubles with it. But with her otimism and energy, with my protection and translation help and with our cameras, I'm sure her staying here will be enjoyable :)

recent me

I so much wanted to write smth yesterday... but I forgot my password :P how smart! well, it took me a while to get it set back, because aparantly I gave a wrong e-mail :S ha ha, well, everyhing is all right now ;) so I'm back to blogging because I feel like it...

what about recent me? well, I totally gathered myself together and finally I can call it summer :) it's summer inside my empty head, it's summer on my smiling face, it's summer for every creature and plants and it is just around me and I have not noticed it till now. I guess this a week get away to Columbia was very useful. I got bored, I do not deny it, but sickness is not a lot of fun anyways, so it was safe to stay at the house. I came back to that myself who appreciates every little thing! I do enjoy what I do! surely I would change some things in life if it was possible to go back, but that is how it was permanetly typed on the pages of my life-book. :) It is still possible to read this book, but it's getting too fat every new year, so it's harder to recall what has happened there.... long time ago... The only and the most presious chapter of that book has a pretty bookmark with a UWC logo on it... yes, those were the days which I can not get over with. Why did I remember rcn again? well, talking to my beloved brought a lil flow of memories... and guess what's going now in my head? I'm making another list of plans where I have to go and whom I should see next year...

I hope I'll get better for make it life... have caughing :( and "who get's sick in May" - Lorena :P - well, I guess me and u do... but I'm sure you are already feeling good.
Peace and a sea of sun and fun!

happy

I already gave up dreaming of coming and visiting Tanya, my 3rd year from rcn, my russian twin sister as many say... but I managed to safe some money and book my tickets to Richmond within the last couple of days before my break! I'm so happy I'm here right now! It's an amazing place first of all. It has anything anybody would ever need (basing on what I've been living in): beautiful campus, great college facilities, civilization around, which means you can get out any time almost anywhere... I've been having only +ve emotions about my break so far. Even though my last sleepless night was about trying to get ready for my pol.sci. midterm which I screwed up anyways, and the next 24 hours were spent in the car, in the train, smoking shisha, eating in McDonalds at 3 a.m., flying to Richmond, seeing everybody, partying a bit... so here is an amazingly ugly picture of a deadly tired Zhenia, who hasn't slept for 3 days, but still smiling and saying that she is happy! Happiness to me has always been about little things that my life catches while I travel with the flow. As long as I'm not extrimely lazy, as long as I have wonderful friends around, as long as I have my lovely family and I know they are fine, as long as I have my uwc memories in my heart and as long as I try to make this world a little bit better and more confortable at least for ppl around me, why shouldn't I be happy?! :) well it was a just a little bit of my randomness, but I couldn't resist putting it in my blog, since I haven't been writing anything lately.
So here am I! 3/5 days in UR were wonderful! I have seen JB, Tugce, Rasa, Agatha, Dereje, Carlos, Mario, Flemming, I've met other nice ppl, and it feels like I've been away from this ppl for 2-3 years... it feels like we just haven't seen each other for 2-3 weeks... that's the misterical part of uwc relationships :)
I can write a lot about my spring break in here, but at the moment the emotions are taking over, so it won't make sense to anybody but me...:P he he

Otherwise, life has been treating me too well. I've met a person who makes me happy and who I like spending my time with. I've been trying to keep up with my 22 hours of classes, with my 2 hours per day of tennis practice, with 12 hours of work, with partying :P, with some other crap... maybe it's just spring?! I hope everybody is having this happy spring flings ;)

my first time!

I don't know why is it such a big deal, but it really is to me. After such a long time I'm writing and it's about my first time - my first time to give blood :) Exciting, frightening, a lil bit painful, a bit funny... and all this sudden feelings.
I can just say: I DID IT! and now I'm not afraid of doing it again. Moreover, it is for a good purpose :)

What is it?! Miracle?

it's when you know that you are very late to your bus, but you still make it there... somehow...it's when you know there is always someone who wants to see you, to talk to you, who will always give you a hug whenever you need it...it's when you come to a place where you have never been before and you enjoy every single moment of it. When the sun is shining, when ppl are smiling, when weak wind crawles under your sweater and makes you shiver for a second, when the music in your head makes you sing on the streets, when ppl turn around just to see who is that crazy, but instead of getting angry, they smile at you :)...it's when you wake up at 7 am on Sunday just because the sun is calling you to take a walk...when you switch that part of your brain which is responsible for school... I missed that condition.. I can't recall any such moments in the last couple of months... I've been in delirium...:S
Yes, I'm Chicago at the moment. It's my fall break. I think I deserved it, but my teacheres don't agree with that, giving me/ us a lot of hw for this short 4 days... I dunno why, but I gave up and run away from my duties to Chicago - to the closest, but at the same time the farthest place you could run to for that cheap... I'm staying with Ruth Anne and Laslo :) recalling some fun moments from the past...
Right now it's alsmot noon and it's time to go down town and get lost among ppl, lots of ppl I don't know...

where am I?

well, I know I've been very bad in keeping my bloggin up, but I'm sooooo upset of not having my laptop :( I was stupid enough to forget a very important detail at home, so I have to wait for weeks in order to get it back by mail... I also managed to forget my tennis shose :S maybe it happen, coz I was packing the last night before leavin? yeah, I should admitt my stupidity...
on the other hand - I'm alive, in the US, having a taugh time trying to combine studyin n partying :P lol

I guess I gotta stop bullshiting and get back to work

Bored?

yes, I am... for the first time this summer... it's not like I have nothing to do, it's just because it's Saturday and I'm home alone and there is a pile of clodth all around my room and I know I have to get my room back to normal (as I've been told) condition... I'm listening to Coldplay... looking at the watch and how I'm loosing every minute for doing nothing.... am I tired? am I lazy? am I not? morning was a very happy time today for me - I got my first digital camera which made me take pictures of everything so that my cat is almost blind of a camera flash and she definitly won't sleep with me today :( and yesterday.... I've got my visa!!! so for the next year I'll be located at Fulton, MO... here is a thing: the summer is going to finish soon!!!! aaaaaa it's crazy how the time passed so quickly... I remember that earlier I wanted it to finish asap, but now I don't think so... I don't think I want to go back and study... ah, whatever, I shouldn't complain.. I should be thankful that I got such a chance of going somewhere as my firends always admire my acheavements...what kind of acheavements this is ?! now I think I wish I was home always... what is it? - homesickness already? or just because after being traveling for a bit I concluded that it's better home? I don't know and don't what to know why I think like that....
oops, I forgot that I was supposed to write about my 10-days-trip... nah, I guess I won't do it, coz it's going to be long and boring... ppl who are familiar with facebook can see some pics but the rest I'll leave with me...
yeap, that's it! peace to everyone and awesome end of summer ;)

Just the beginning of a long story...

I have never seen so much of Russia than I did a couple of days ago! I really saw and experienced a lot, I think even more than my dear guests who were visiting me in Russia... if you don't know yet, I was hosting my host-family (Ingrid's family) from Norway and it's been great having them around... I could have writen earlier, but my internet hasn't been working well and as I found out it was another "Technical reason" which follow me everywhere :S ehh...

I will stop for now, but I hope to come back and write more about our wonderful advanture and me being a guide :P ha ha ha ha

P.S. after yesterday last world cup game I honestly don't know what to think... all my guesses were wrong and the team I didn't expected to win this championship actually beat everyone and became leaders of WC 2006! Congratulaytion Italy :) !!! and good bye Zidane :(

"tecnical reasons"?!

Have you ever had a day when everything goes against you? when nothing you plan works? when you know that you aren't late for a bus and when u come it's gone? have you had a feeling that it's just not your day??? but at the same time you weren't upset, but intertained by the fact that nothing works and everything around is working agains you but to make you smile on what you didn't succeded at? :)
well, I just had that day yesterday... Funny that it happen to be combined with my visitors arrival whom I still call my norwegian host-family :) one of the nicest days I planned to wake up and do all the things I had to finishe last week, so first of all, I managed to oversleep :( when I really woke up it was too late to finish my first planned task.. I was a little bit angry at myself, but I couldn't even picture what was expecting me later.. the day wasn't that pleasant either: hot > grey> stormy > thunderstorm > heavy rain > sunny > hot > hot > cold.... nice day isn't it, "how can I even want to go out today?" I though... later, I managed to force myself and do another exploit: and what u think? nothing! my second and then later third tries ended up failure - for some unknown resons they were ALL saying the same thing : "we don't work today for a tecnical reasons"... grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! I gave up for acouple of hours and went to my work to make a "welcome" sign for my guests... I made the sign, I took underground to get ti the airport and I went out on the last station to take the bus... and here I got to laugh for a bit :) Usually on the last stations they ask every body to leave the train, so what I and most of other ppl did, and while I was walking back to "above the ground" I got to observe a vert funny picture: (I'll do my best to make it funny) one of the obviously russian guys (I say obviously, coz he was very drunk and not under control) wanted to get out like every body else did, but suddenly the doors have closed and he couldn't realise what is going on for a long time.... I was starting at his lost face and thinking how much fun it would be to get somewhere , where only drivers get... I also thought to run to the first vagon and tell the driver to open the doors and let poor very lost guy out, but I didn't do it for some reasons... so I was following him untill the train dissapear in the darkness... well, I won't hide, but I was drawing all kind of possible ways for him to get out of there and it made me to forget that I was going the wrong way... so right before I wanted to leave the metro and see the light, I realize:" I'm supposed to be on the other side, so in order not to cross some amount of roads up there, I decided to come back and walk through the station again, but on the other side... and what do you think made me laugh so hard when I got down? I saw that poor guy again :D the same lost and very drunk face and he dafinetly wasn't sure where he was and how he got back... (I'll explain here a bit: the train went around and came back in order to take ppl back to the center of the city, so the guy just had a longer drive around and got back safely)... I was honestly laughing with my hands covering the face, but I can't even describe the expression on that guy's face whose short peace of life I was trying to recall :)
For some reasons I remembered a short phrais that came out just like any other stupid thoughts use to come up to our hands: "God takes care of kids and alcoholics" :) - ALL TRUE! believe me ;)

well-well-well, this five minuts that took me to cross the station made a big change in what I was doing later: I did miss Ingrid with her family! and it costed me just 10 minutes of extra waiting... but I didn't give up coz I promissed to get them and to guide everywhere... I know what it's like to be in the city where no one undestands you and where everything is "french" (sorry Elo :P ) ... acutally, I shouldn't have worried about them coming to the hotel - they managed perfectly without me... in general, the whole staying in a foreign city like Moscow didn't scare them away so far and I realized that I'm not in such a bit need for them, especially when they are all family who wants to speak norwegian and not to think about ppl around like me :$ I did succede in showing them a bit of the center in the very first day and it really was a very long day...

I think, I shouldn't write so much, coz otherwise I'm becoming boring ...
Just briefly: summer is hot for me and not as much relaxing as I would love it to be, but well, I'm happy that I have a chance to go to St Petersburg :D soon...

love and peace

WORK, WORK AND WORK!

oh, it's not easy to be working 6 days a week... I'm there now, among tons of different smart books, different in size, different inside and outside, for all kinds of smart ppl... but it's too much for such a person like me, who discovered that reading can be fun only this summer, and who loves book, but only if they have pictures inside :P yeap, so now I realize that I need to grow up and read smart books, but the first look at those gigants scares me :S... thanks god, they've got internet in here, otherwise I would immideatly fall asleep right here, on this table... Saturday is a boring day, only young ppl and thiefs come today and use our naivete, coz it's only me and my mam here, instead of 4 ppl who mast work here... but it's also a very quite day, meaning that I can either chat to my mam (she refuses giving me any kinds of work) or read a beautiful book of a french writer Georg Sand...
oops, I guess, I need to get back to my responsibilities :P
well, I'll be back some time soon ;)
peace!
